Saniya Gay is a Senior at Delaware State University, where she received her Bachelors in Mass Communications in May of this year. At a very young age, Saniya understood the value of giving back and making the community a better place. She began her dance career at various dance studios in New Castle, DE, eleven years ago. She realized how much joy dancing brought to the soul and decided spreading joy through dancing would be the best way to give back to the community. Saniya has a deep

commitment to Domestic Violence Awareness. Due to the violent relationship that her sister endured, she and her sister started an organization called Love Don't Hurt. Love Don't Hurt helps domestic violence victims with toiletries and connects them to resources.

In 2019, Saniya won the title of Ms. Juneteenth Delaware with her platform issue of Domestic Violence. Due to CoVid-19, the Delaware Juneteenth Association (DEJA) Family Enrichment Program for 2020 was canceled. For the first time in the pageant's history, DEJA requested that Saniya continue her reign

until June 2021. In 2020, she became the Nation’s 1st National Miss Juneteenth Queen. In addition to this great honor, in May 2021, The 400 Years of African American History Commission selected Saniya to serve as their first 2021 National Student Ambassador. Saniya was on the board as the First Vice

President of the National Council of Negro Women at DSU chapter and was also a producer for ESPN+. for her schools media team.
